Think you need a new furnace?
Furnaces are a crucial part of making your home a comfortable place, and choosing the right one is important.
If you think it’s time for a new furnace, take these points into consideration when choosing the best option for you.
Think ahead. Don’t wait until the middle of the winter when your furnace breaks down or your heating bills are through the roof to start searching for a replacement. Be proactive and have IT Landes® examine your furnace at least twice a year. We can inform you when we start to notice the warning signs of your furnace failing or becoming inefficient, so you can avoid having to make a rushed decision.
Pay attention to energy efficiency. When you’re considering new furnaces, you’ll have a choice between an Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) of 80% or 90%. Plus, you’ll have to decide if you want to pay less for a furnace that is 80% efficient, or pay more upfront on a 90% efficient furnace and save later on energy bills. In the long run, installing the most efficient furnace possible is usually the best option.
Have your ducts examined, too. Installing a new furnace is supposed to improve the comfort of your home while also saving you money, but it won’t if your ducts are leaky. When you have your furnace inspected, we will look at your ducts, as well.
If you think your furnace needs to be replaced, the professionals at IT Landes can examine your furnace and help you make the right choice. Call 215-256-4221 or request an appointment online.
