Think you need a new heat pump?
There are a few things you should consider first.
Heat pumps perform two important jobs for your home—not only do they provide warmth for your home in the fall and winter, but they also cool your home down as an air conditioner when the temperature heats up. So if your heat pump is beginning to underperform, you want to be proactive about replacement; that way, you won’t be stuck without both heat and air conditioning.
Consider the size. When choosing a new heat pump, IT Landes® will evaluate your home and determine the correct size for the new unit. A heat pump that is too powerful will have to shut on and off constantly, and one that is too small will be overworked in your home.
Think about efficiency. While the most efficient heat pumps can be slightly more expensive, consider the fact that a newer model’s improved efficiency can save you money on your energy bills every month.
Always look at SEER/HSPF ratings. When choosing a new heat pump for your home, be sure to check the unit’s Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) and Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF). These ratings compare the energy it takes to run the heat pump to the amount of heating/cooling power the pump has, which tells you how efficient the heat pump is overall. A more efficient heat pump can save you money all year round.
